Monaco Bay

They are changing the name of Rum Runners to Monaco Bay...that' gay. Ooh look, I'm a poet and I didn't know it. Anyhoot, I've only been there once, but changing names is just stupid. Maybe I should be Chloe Potter, my porn name from now on. No I am not in fetish films like Sarah from Joe Millionaire, I just took the good ole' first pet's name and street you lived on as a child. My brother would be Leon Howe - talk about boring! Sounds like a brand of office products.

There is certainly nothing interesting going on in my life right now. Only 3 weeks of classes left, and I am ecstatic about that. I just want this semester to be over - I don't have any thrilling plans for the summer besides more classes and maybe a trip to Cedar Point. I would love to go down to Houston to see Peligrosa Jaime, but since I am living the life of a welfare baby mama drama, that's not looking all that possible.

I'm so tired and bored right now, thanks for bearing with me chickies - the quote of the day is the whole Bush thing that was posted before this. Sit on that for awhile and let me know what ya think!

:) Ciao, ciao y más ciao - as my Language prof says...

Erin
That's not the way, I tell you.

I'm swamped with homework at this present moment, but I will post again this afternoon when I will be stuck here at work for 5 long hours.

Yesterday I was walking on campus, amid the chalkings for and against the war. One said, "The only Bush I trust is my own." That was a good one.

And I have definitely found the STUPIDEST song in the history of the world. No, I am not talking about the Macarena. I'm talking about this song they played at Wayside last night that simply says over and over and over again, "Face down, ass up - that's the way we like to fuck." Grosero.

Sandals...

Going home, going home...17 minutes 'til I get to shut down shop and go home. Oh wait, I don't get to go home! I get to go to the lovely education library and talk in circles for an hour or so about my Spanish project, and what in the hell we are going to put on a handout for our class about bilingual education. Does our class of 31 students care? No...they are going to be more concerned with playing lotería (Bingo) than anything else.

For those of you who have owned Doc Marten sandals as I do...do they make your feet S-T-I-N-K? It's like death by leather soled shoes. I love these shoes, I'm just embarassed to take them off! If I could go home and leave them on, my troubles would be over.

It's that time of the week, Wayside Wednesday! My brother is coming to visit too...I'm so lucky :) I'd be even more lucky if I got lucky, but I'm not that lucky. Just kidding kids :)

Time to go...have a great night. Make sure you watch the Bachelor. We'll converse about the hoochie mamas on there tomorrow.

Hasta luego ~

When I grow up, I want to be a dumb waiter...

I'm gonna start giving my blogs titles now. At least today I am - we'll see if it lasts.

Last night, Beth, Becky & I treated ourselves to yet another "Fajita-rita Monday" At Chili's. Generally I am not a fan of Chilis', but Mondays are an exception. Margaritas are only $2 (Don't try the Jamaican Paradise though, it's nasty) and a double order of fajitas is only $11. We're talkin' bargainsville, kids...especially when you are a poor college student, such as yours truly. Remind me to talk about the poverty aspects of my life in a second here. Anyhoot, we decided to go to Chili's, and there was like a ten minute wait so we decided to sit in the bar. We are waited on by this waiter named Lance, who for the rest of this blog shall be known as Dumbass Lance. We order our margaritas and what not and things seem to be going fairly well. Dumbass Lance then brings out our fajitas which he tells us not to touch the sizzling black plate because it's hot...duh! We need one more plate because the three of us are splitting them, so we ask him for that along with 2 more margaritas. Okay, not a big deal - but I was definitely done eating my first fajita before the plate even came, and I swear to goodness that the kid walked to Antartica to get the ice for our margaritas, because they were a good 10 minutes behind the plate. Gotta love eating and having nothing to quench your thirst. Amid all this, Dumbass Lance was running around like a chicken with his head cut off - not able to remember who requested what, what food goes on what table. We asked him for more chips, we got those relatively quick. The highlight of the night had to be when HE our DUMBASS waiter burned HIS OWN HAND on the fajita plate. HELLO, do you not get paid to tell your customers those plates are hot? That's like telling your 5 year old not to play with matches and then burning your house down because you dropped a match. Seriously retarded. Finally we had to ask him for our bill (am I in Spain again?) and we request it be divided up 3 ways. There is a manner in which you can divide the fajitas and queso w/ chips and then just charge each girl for their drinks - Becky and I had 2, Beth had 1. So Dumbass Lance comes back a few minutes later and axs (yes, i did say ax instead of ask) us who wants the fajitas - I just look at him and grab the bill. Now this is where he truly earns the Dumbass in his name. He gives us 3 bills. 2 of the 3 have only 1 margarita charged to them, and the third has 1 margarita and the fajitas. Now, I don't know where he missed out on the 6th grade division on 11 / 3 = $3.66 but that can be put aside. He didn't charge us for 2 additional margaritas OR the chili con queso that we ordered with our chips which is $4. All together, Dumbass Lance missed out on $8 of additional charges, which could have been $1.60 additional tip for him. What a moron. He seriously annoyed me.

Other than that exciting event, nothing really happens so much anymore. My mom and Jim were with me all weekend, and I ate out 4 times with them, and even had my mom purchase $40 worth of groceries for my poverty stricken ass. I even had to take out a $125 "loan" from my mom, and she gave me a $15 bonus. Altogether, my poverty stricken ass came up with $33 in my favor. Spent $8 of it last night, and I'm sure Wayside Wednesday will waste another $10 at least. I need to freakin' learn saving and budgeting! STUPID GIRL.

Okay, I'm outtie. Quote of the day you say?

"Happiness is having a large, loving, caring, close-knit family in another city."~George Burns.

*PS*...how scandalious voting Veronica off last night. Die Emily, DIE!

Do you ever go to new restaurants that look okay on the outside, bad on the inside, but they have good food? Today, my mom, Jim and I went to this Chinese place on Westnedge that I have never been to. It looks okay on the outside, but the inside looked a bit shabby. Really though, what are ya' gonna do? Just walk out? Okay, the thought did cross my mind, but I would't have the nerve to do that - I would feel bad. So, we stayed and ate at this joint and it was some GOOD shit! I'm generally not a huge fan of Chinese, but it was excellent. I'd say I gained a good 3 lbs on that meal. God, I hope not :(

Anyhoot, this has been a very unproductive weekend. I've watched a lot of TV, played some old school Nintendo (yes, we have old school Nintendo here!) and watched TV for the most part. We did go to a Wal-Mart Supercenter...that place is cool. It has everything! But yeah, other than that I haven't done a whole lot, but I'm expecting that to all end relatively soon because everying and anything is coming up within these next 4 weeks before finals. Whooo hoooo.

I've come to decide recently what my favorite CD of all time is. No it's not anything by Natalie Merchant, Dave Matthews, or any of my other favorites or some great classic CD by like the Beatles or something. It's "Almost Happy" by K's Choice. I absolutely LOVE every song on there, and they are such an awesome band. If you've never heard of them, they are a band from Belgium who are wonderful - I met them last summer at Pine Knob and got an autograph, but that was before I really liked them. Too bad I was a bit intoxicated at the time too, or else I would have enjoyed it so much more. On that note, the other day in English class, a girl was talking about how she got to meet Tori Amos (she's creepy to me) and that she just stood there and cried, couldn't say anything. Can you imagine what that's like for Tori Amos? First of all, she is VERY odd...but I can't imagine someone just crying because they thought I was the greatest person in the world and my music touched them so much. I just think it's bizarre. Last winter I had front row seats to Natalie Merchant who is like my absolute favorite, and although I was cloud nine when I suspected that we made eye contact, (which I'm sure I was just imagining) I didn't cry. Just smiled alot. That's what I do when I'm drunk too - especially when I'm dancing- I'll do gay dance moves and then just crack up. It's great. Not really, it's entirely stupid but when I'm drunk I think it's so inventive.

Alright, I need to get my shiznit together for another day...I will conclude with a poem we read in my Contemporary Latino Literature class that I thought was great...

When the Leather Is A Whip~Martín Espada

At night,
with my wife
sitting on the bed,
I turn from her
to unbuckle
my belt
so she won't see
her father
unbuckling
his belt

One more thing I just thought of. On campus today, I saw a "chalking" on the sidewalk that said "Why is all our oil underneath their sand?" Pretty strong, eh? Keep praying for our nation.

I saw "8 Mile" this weekend - not so impressed.
Saw "Dead Man Walking" again...amazing.
